Swim Meets

At the commencement of the Long Course and Short Course swimming season, IAP publishes a list of swim meets the coaches attend and recommend our swimmers participate in based on their squad level.

Swimming Victoria Championship Events

IAP also compete in the Swimming Victoria championship events.

  • Victorian Open Championships

  • Victorian Age Championships

  • Victorian Sprint Championships

  • Victorian Metropolitan Long Course Championships

  • Victorian Open Short Course Championships

  • Victorian Age Short Course Championships

Our qualifying swimmers also compete in the Australian Age Championships (usually held in April).

Club PB Nights

IAP organises Club Personal Best (‘PB’) nights throughout the year at the IGGS pool.  Although called PB nights, these swimming events are held in the morning or late afternoon on a Friday or Sunday.

Swimmers from all squads are encouraged to attend as they are a great chance to experience racing for the first time, get to know other swimmers and to achieve club race times.  There are also some fun relays and races and food and snacks, so it is a fun way to swim together with your fellow club members.

Club Championships

Club Championships are usually held annually and are open to all IAP members.  Swimmers must have participated in at least 2 PB nights (in that year) to compete in the Club Championships. The Club Championships are a fun and social event for all club members.  Swimmers are encouraged to participate in all events for their age group.  Trophies and medals from the results of the Club Championships will be awarded at the AGM and Presentation Night.
