Joining Ivanhoe Aqua Power

Assessment

If your child is interested in joining IAP, please contact our Club Registrar. Squad entry is via assessment by one of our coaches.  As a rough guide, to be ready for Junior squad, swimmers must be able to swim 50m of all four strokes with some leeway given for Butterfly. More advanced swimmers, for example those already swimming for another club, can instead choose to attend a trial by swimming a full session with our Target or Senior squads.

To be ready for the school holiday pre squad program, swimmers must be able to swim 50m of freestyle and backstroke and some breaststroke and butterfly.  Assessment for entry to the school holiday pre squad program is undertaken prior to or at the first school holiday session.

Assessment may be booked using the form below or email our club Registrar (registrar.ivanhoeaquapower@gmail.com).

Enrolment

Following a successful assessment, swimmers will receive a squad offer to join IAP from the IAP Registrar (via email).  The swimmer accepts the offer and then must complete the four steps below to be a successfully enrolled member of the IAP swimming club:

Purchase Swimming Victoria membership

This is required for both the swimmer (Swimmer member) and a guardian/parent (Dryland member) and is required for insurance purposes and to allow a swimmer to compete at swim meets. Purchase is made via the Swimming Victoria website called Swim Central https://swimcentral.swimming.org.au/

Annual Swimming Victoria membership is currently $194.50 (Swimmers 9 years and over) and $36.99 (Adult dryland).  Note: Swimming Victoria membership is renewed annually at the end of June. Swimming Victoria requires each swimmer under the 18 years to have a corresponding adult dryland member linked to the swimmer in the same family group within the Swimming Victoria system.

Instructions on using Swim Central including getting started with Swim Central, purchasing a membership and transferring from other clubs is available on swimming.org.au.

Set-up your direct debit for monthly coaching fees

The IAP Treasurer will email you the direct debit application form and then you will receive an email from Ezidebit.  IAP fees are monthly and direct debited at the start of each calendar month.  Note that the cost of attending the school holiday program is included in members term fees. If required, a swimmer’s direct debit may be paused for periods of one month or more due to illness or extended absence.

Provide Swimmer Information

Families are required to provide key information to the IAP Registrar for swimmer account creation in the IAP system including parent/guardian, emergency contacts, medical conditions etc. All new members receive a complimentary IAP swimming cap from their coach at their first training session.
